Not sure if any of you follow FCS football, but perennial powerhouse, and #1 seed in the playoffs, North Dakota State, is playing #8 Colgate right now on ESPN. It's pretty good stuff. Colgate comes in after beating another perennial power, James Madison. NDSU has won like 4 of the last 5 national championships.
Every time someone tells me we can't have a huge college football playoff in the FBS, I point to this system, which is freaking awesome. It's an interesting system, where 24 teams make it, but 8 teams have "1st round" byes.
I want the FBS to have a full 64 team playoff, I want the regular season for every team to be 10 games (Colgate played 10, North Dakota St. played 11), and then maybe an 11th for a conference championship. Then put together a second, 64 team playoff NIT-type tournament for the schools that don't get in.
Anyway, if you aren't watching, try to tune in. It's really good football.
Edit: Actually, NDSU has won 6 of the last 7 National Championships, which is pretty amazing considering that besides Carson Wentz, they haven't had a ton of guys that went on NFL careers, or even guys who were the best players in the FCS that year.
