Chris Sale (plus $17mil) traded to Atlanta for Vaughn Grissom
Sale has been great. It's a major bummer watching him mow us down, but I'm hoping Grissom will make us forget about him soon enough. The guy has done nothing but hit year-in, year-out, and it would really be nice to finally have someone who can solidify the position on offense if not on defense...- Fishy1

I mean I know it's fun to blame the Red Sox players, but give Sale some credit. There's not very many left-hand hitters that have any idea where his slider is going. Everybody swings at his shit out of the zone because most guys can't even tell if it's a slider or a fastball until it's too late.- Fishy1

This is great, thank you. Yeah, Dalbec unfortunately seems to me more likely to follow the Middlebrooks track. I thought maybe he'd be like Carlos Pena, but then I looked at Pena's actual K numbers, and the guy was mostly around 27%. Which is not great, but you can survive. 35% plus K rate and...- Fishy1

Last night's LOB-fest was frustrating for sure. On the other hand, Devers is posting the best wrc+ of his career so far, and boasting a walk rate of 15%, which has led to an OBP over .400. But I'd note a few things: that Smith had the surgery in the offseason, early January -- so nearly half a year ago -- and had Spring Training (where he hit pretty well) and some minor league time...- Fishy1
