    Evaluating the Front Office

Thinking about @Super Nomario 's book and the front office. Overall I'd give them a solid B+ (A-?) for the off-season. They've done numerous things well but have some areas for improvement. I'll also cover the draft in here. Things the front office has done well: 1) Winning free-agency. They...

Current State of the O Line

I think there is a low-key chance of some disastrous outcomes. As much as we hated Trent Brown he was a good left tackle. Onwenu struggled with speed rushing wide 9s. Going from Brown to Chuks or whoever they go to is going to be bad enough but it is also taking away the ability to give Onwenu...

    R3/68 Caedan Wallace OT PSU

Amegadjie yes. The rest, no. I do like Goncalves as like a super sub or maybe a starting guard. Amegadjie is a project though.

    R2/37 Ja’Lynn Polk WR Washington

Actually think Aiyuk was a much worse route runner coming out. I tend to point to him as the prime example of guys who get better at route running. For an X size and speed do matter. For slots not so much.

    R3/68 Caedan Wallace OT PSU

Wallace is an older offensive lineman who probably best profiles as a guard. The risk with older prospects needing a lot of technique work is that it is harder for older guys to learn things vs younger prospects. Muscle memory is less pliable. I am surprised they think Wallace can handle left...

    R2/37 Ja’Lynn Polk WR Washington

The zone stuff is interesting because when I saw him vs Cal I noticed he was settling high in the triangle. And he can drift. I thought he had an inconsistent feel vs zone. The reason I felt Polk was a bit of a reach at 37 is not just because of where he was vs consensus (considered more of...

    R2/37 Ja’Lynn Polk WR Washington

He has a lot better RAC than Meyers. Has more burst. Can play outside. I don’t like the Meyers comp. Meyers is more of a power slot. Polk is a flanker or split end.

    R4/110 Javon Baker WR UCF

Huge fan of Baker and really love giving Maye two guys who win on the sidelines and catch everything close to them. Aside from the OL which were reaches the WRs really fit what Maye needs. Still need a true WR1 and LT but that can wait for next year.

2024 NFL Draft 4th through 7th round gamethread WITH SPOILERS

Baker and Polk are really nice fits with Maye who likes to work the sideline and who needs guys with big catch radii. Very good! The OL might be reaches but the WRs are WR2 types or 1Bs so... nice.

Fuck Wolf. Two reaches. I like Polk enough to not be too mad about it but Wallace is criminal at 68. What are we doing?

Yeah but I don't have a starting grade on him. This was a massive reach and imo a shitty pick. It might work out for him to be a low level LT or an average RT. I don't think so. I hate this pick. He was like 186 on the consensus board. Polk was a reach by a round. He is a reach by 2-3 rounds...

I trust Thorn too. Lance Z is also very much an OL guy and he has Sua as more of a 4th round kind of prospect. Consensus is around 40-45. I am more like pick 85. It just depends on how much you think you can develop guys and if you need to play him right away.

Yeah Sua is a bet on athleticism, size, length, etc. Would I make that bet? No. But I get it if an NFL team does. Even your OL experts are torn on him. Personally I chase high floors with OTs and Sua isn't that. I chase ceiling with WRs.

2024 NFL Draft 2nd and 3rd round gamethread: Baruch atah Adonai WITH SPOILERS

Paul has some technique issues in pass pro + will never be a good run blocker. Specifically he stops his feet and gets complacent allowing for secondary moves. He also can overset and let guys get inside on him. Run blocking wise he just doesn't get the right leverage and doesn't have a ton of...
