Series 11: SOX vs TWINS
The Sox have been knocked down like bowling pins,
taking things hard on our collective chins,
but we’ve no sob-stories, or violins
offering sympathy. Though we’ve seen fins
we’re survived, kept afloat, and put up wins.
Keep your Clark Gables and your Errol Flynns:
big name performers with heroic grins.
We’re up-and-comers and never-have-beens,
scrappy stand-byers and part time fill-ins.
We wear red letters, accepting our sins,
aiming for better like ten Hester Prynnes.
“Sox can’t compete” was the weakest of spins.
We toppled Giants. A new fight begins.
Practically tied by the thinnest of skins.
Let’s go separate ourselves from the Twins.
