    As for the other side, it is definitely an odd acquisition by SD but they are one of a handful of teams that doesn't care much about trading prospects as they are so good at restocking their pipeline behind them.

    I don't know about the return but Arraez is a fading asset, a singles hitter and a mediocre defender who is paid a lot, only under control through next year, and basically a replacement player so far this season (0.1 bWAR).

    It doesn't matter much at this point but Embiid put up massive numbers in that series despite having obvious knee issues and disappearing in most 4th quarters. He also seemed to influence/intimidate a lot of shots in the paint, I am not going to miss facing him.

    Going back to early season baseball seems a little anticlimactic after the titanic struggle of Knicks/Sixers, but the Yankees come back home tonight after a demoralizing four game set in BAL. First they face the resurgent Tigers, who are actually 10-4 on the road.

    For the record, I had no dislike for Embiid before this series, but he is an incredibly dirty player. He is constantly pushing guys while they are in the air and vulnerable, I think it's in part to protect his knee some but it's really dangerous.

    Brunson sat for 2 minutes in the 4th and came back into a tie game with 6:38 left. They showed that he had 27 points at the time, and I guessed to my wife that he'd end up with 39. He actually ended with 41, 14 in the final 6:38.

    Brunson averaged 42 and 12 in the three games in Philly, and he has so little help offensively. It’s a little like the Iverson Sixers who made the Finals, awesome team D and a stellar offensive PG who doesn’t get much help on that end.
