    NFL Schedule Release 2024

As a guy living in Jax, this is pretty bad news. They came to Denver so many times when I lived there, and I was excited to go see them and not freezing my ass off.

So try to hit the obstruction to get relief after? That would be a weird rule. And they would basically always be able to hit the obstruction if they wanted to. They're pretty good at hitting the ball where they want to

Yeah, this is one of those rules where it seems silly on the surface, but you can start to debate as you start looking into why it is the way it is. The theory is that you have the right to the golf course as it exists when there is not a tournament being played. If it was, say, a match play...

That was changed in 2019. You can remove loose impediments in a hazard now.

It is that way because it's only used for one very limited thing and for a few days a year. Unlimited money and a full year's development cycle are quite the luxury.

Bones also does more paid speaking engagements than you could imagine. He's the MC for soooo many corporate ProAms and other golf related events (and is awesome at it).

I was standing right there when it happened. No fans could see anything, TV couldn't see anything, Shotlink couldn't see anything. You could see his ball bounce but not where it hit at all. It's totally blind. Unless you had an overhead view of a camera over on 6 looking across the whole of...

I hope if I win my club championship I get an invitation too. How will we ever know if Rory can beat me?

That is correct. There is no live scoring for qualifiers, even with Charlie playing.

Because there's a CBT and tying up $50M/yr is worse than tying up $27M/yr.

But why? If you hit into the fairway then you should be entitled to a perfect lie, so just let them place it. I don't understand wanting a little "rub of the green" but not so much that it could be in a "divot".

Jordan could have not signed it and come back for scorecard validation. This is really the last thing that anyone wanted to happen, and the TOUR does just about everything possible to protect the players. The rule about leaving the scoring tent is there to protect everyone else playing. What...

    2024 PGA Tour

This is a very odd take. So, you want free relief from an unlucky break, but you want to make sure they can get another unlucky break? What if the drop ends up in another divot?

Mark Dusbabec explained what happened on air today. Jordan could have stayed in the scoring tent and waited for scorecard validation, which would have told him he had the wrong score on his scorecard. Instead, he just dropped off his scorecard and left the scoring area. Once you leave, you...

The divot rule is not moronic. The only remedy to to play preferred lies in the fairway and that advantage is way too large of an offset from the occasional bad break of landing in a divot. The problem is that you can't define a "divot" in any way that is objective.

It is quite difficult to sign an incorrect scorecard. Scorecards are kept in 3 different places (players own card, walking scorer devices, Shotlink backend) and at the end of each round there is a blind validation between the player's card and the Shotlink system. If they don't match, it will...

Fun fact, the TOUR actually does not make those decisions. The WM is actually run by an organization known as the Thunderbirds. They handle the build-out of the the hospitality, ticket sales, F&B, etc. Also, I'm guessing you've never been there on a Saturday. It's an insane blend of 35k...

It's actually required to play Monday if at all possible, but it has to be able to complete on Monday. If the course is unplayable, round 4 will be cancelled but everything possible will be done to get all 72 holes in.

    PGA, LIV tours to merge

Firstly, none of us have any idea what the pay structure is for LIV. They certainly didn't get it all in a lump sum, so presumably they need to keep playing for LIV to earn their whole contract. Secondly, that's how every stock grant works. It has a vesting schedule. If you leave before it...

    PGA, LIV tours to merge

Shares in private companies given to key stakeholders isn't really new or all that obscure. When the shares vest, they can sell them to whoever is willing to buy them for whatever they are willing to pay. My point was that a bunch of billionaires either believe that number will be higher than...
