    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

Not a new yorker nor have I ever been married but this still made complete sense to me. Well done. New Yorkers seemed primed to leave their wife for one fun month of Jeremy Lin for .500 ish team!

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

I mean it’s only a few posts so could just chalk it up to SSS!

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

My posts were rooted in on/off stats and what I’ve seen from Tatum and the Celtics through first six games in totality. If they lose a few games where he looks like he did last night I’ll change my tune. But again in the one game where he had his best shooting and points night they lost. that...

Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

Im sure he followed that up by mentioning the Nuggets defeating 8/4/7/8 seeds last year!

This is terrific, thanks. Im very hopeful that we see more of the #BCB plays when Porzingis comes back..

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

I was likely conceived the night after Thanksgiving, 1980, when the celts beat the knicks. That was a really gross way of saying "no i do not. but I read about it!" How concerned are people if Jarrett Allen comes back? He always seems to put up numbers but Russillo/Simmons keep hammering they...

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Gotcha. I read your "around here" as in this thread. My bad. To circle back to the court, do we assume that at some point in the very near future teams will alter the way they are defending Tatum/the celtics, given their offensive rating with him on the court?

    Fair points!

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Who is saying the quoted part? One of my initial posts this morning alluded to the team construction specifically to avoid Tatum having to play the mvp part.

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Agreed. Just another way of framing this - do we think that if we took Jayson Tatum from last year or the year before, and put him on this years team...and the celts were still be defended the way they are, would the celtics offense look better or worse? Obvs no way to prove it but Id bet pretty...

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Right, I dont see anyone claiming his shooting numbers are good. Their overall offense is absurdly good though, and Tatum is a large reason why. His shooting in and of itself is not a positive thing, the fact that he's taking fewer shots/game in these playoffs so far than he has since his second...

yeah sorry I was trying to add on to your thoughts, not counter them (despite my post coming off that way).

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

I think one thing you are missing is not only did Smart turn into Jrue, but he also turned into more opportunity for White. edit: also another year for Coach joe, and a better team of assistants?

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Right. Good pull. Honestly I think the Celts offense would look even better if Tatum shot LESS, but I think they are trying to balance winning offense with keeping him shooting because like everyone has been saying, we will likely need some big points games from him.

JFC. I mean it's one thing to troll us as sports fans, and as much as that frustrates me I admit to finding it entertaining at times. But trolling someone about alcoholism is just flat out gross.

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Yeah very much agreed, in case that wasn’t clear. From a high level I just feel like we’ve had a few years of “Tatum needs to make better decisions,” and now he clearly is doing that. I’m quite happy with what I see from him overall so far, drain a few threes and those points will come.

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Offensive rating: Tatum on 125.5 (225 min) Tatum off 100.8 (63 min) My theory is that with the way he’s being defended so far that the Tatum of a year or two ago would have more points, but that o-rating with him on the court would be worse. Wasn’t there discussion in one of the threads on how...

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Wasn’t this whole team constructed the way it is to help their ability to win a title without having to rely on Tatum consistently putting up huge point numbers in the playoffs? They’ve already tied (or broken) the franchise record for most 20 plus point wins the playoffs with 4.

    Round 2: Celtics vs Cavs

Tatum is averaging 4 less shots per game than last years playoff run with a better asst/to ratio. I agree they’ll need 2-3 huge games from him if they are going to win 10 more (which will obviously improve his overall stats), but from my relatively untrained eye the team as a whole is taking...
