schadenfreude is fun but i feel genuinely bad for knicks fans. it was a pretty good team and injuries fucking suck as a fan. as a neutral too! i would’ve liked to have seen what the full crew was capable of

Disappointing, but I just can't be too sad about it. Once OG went down I figured Indiana would come back and take the series. The injuries that came afterward just made it a certainty. Fun season and I'm already looking forward to next season.

I’m a Breen fan, but he sounds absolutely devastated, he can’t hide it.
I called him out for this on another thread and the response was as if I had said he kills puppies.

The dude is a Knick fan. It’s not a good look when it’s so obvious on national television

The whole thing where he kept mentioning the Knicks injuries while crediting the Pacers was gold too. “People will mention the Knicks injuries but the Pacers played well!!!!”
Mike….you’re the one that’s continuously mentioning the injuries

I love dogs so I am reluctant to say this but now I am curious what Breen would sound like if he was narrating while killing puppies.

This was the worst I’ve seen from him, but that’s probably because this is the closest they’ve gotten to the conference finals in 25 years.

I don’t disagree but just to put this out there…

Next round it would have been against the Celtics and he would have been “in his bag” more.
There’s a 0% chance anyone on this board would have been sticking up for him or talking about how it’s “cool” to see his more human side or whatever

Of course, I’d be the first to scream FUCK YOU BREEN YOU HOMER MUTANT. I keep two sets of books as much as the next guy when it comes to sports.

Definitely preferred to see the Knicks next round. Less travel, BOS/NY hype, potential for Porzingis v NY crowd, but alas. Fuck the Pacers.

Maybe just living outside the NE for a long time has made the NY-Boston stuff feel further away, but I just don't get that worked up about people from NY being a certain way anymore. The whole northeast corridor from Philly on up blends into people-in-cold-places-getting-angry-about-sports with enough miles and time between.

I love this knicks team a lot and I can't wait to see what's to come. This isn't devastating, it's more like "wtf" because of the injuries and clumsiness as a result of inconsistent rotations.

A lot more to say but this turned out to be a very meaningless series for the Knicks and the optimist in me loves that they somehow carried it to 7 and believed in themselves enough to fight through what they did. The Knicks offseason should be very interesting.

I'm gonna say this very openly to a bunch of celtics fans. You guys should stomp the fuck out of the Pacers and if you lose any more than 2 games, I'd be shocked. They are not a good team and are not well coached.

Really looking forward to seeing what the Knicks do with this off season and this roster

When fully healthy, I can't help but think they'd benefit from one consolidation trade, that exchanged how deep they are in back-end starters for a strong top 6. Not sure what that would look like, beyond that fact that Bog seems the guy who Thibs is going to be the least enamored of

The problem with a quantity for quality swap is that they are relying on a couple of guys (OG, Robinson) that really cannot be relied on to stay healthy. When you've got a couple of guys like that, unless you're sending them out via trade, you're taking some real chances with your depth. Think Boston essentially doing a 4 for 2 swap this past summer, but it worked in large part because 3 of the 4 we sent out were major injury risks (and combined to miss 181 games this season). I'm looking to trade Robinson if I'm the Knicks.

Yeah, I'll admit that I haven't gone through the Knicks contracts and thought about what this might look like. But have the general impression that they did a bunch of opportunistic moves in the last 12-18 months to add talent, and now that they have a real >50 win playoff team they could stand to tweak around the edges

It also worked for Boston because they trusted PP and Kornet and Hauser to step up and develop. Thibs seems more, let's say.....reluctant to that.

That said, the Knicks have a great starting base roster, assets, and are obviously a super-attractive market. This is the summer for them to make it happen.
