Paul Goldschmidt is straight up not having a good time this season, and especially so in the month of May:

0-34, 3 BB, 14 K
Just two years from winning MVP and he might be toast. That's baseball for ya. An FA at the end of the season too so I wonder if he's in danger of getting traded for a bag of balls or even released.

I don't know why MLB allowed the Rangers to design the Warehouse at Arlington with such awful sightlines for TV. Their games always feel like they're televised through a zoom lens from a blimp.

Jack Leiter's night is over. He needed 64 pitches to record 5 outs and allowed 6 runs on 3 hits, 3 walks and 2 hit batters... also allowed a double-steal and threw a wild pitch. He doesn't miss bats, so everyone was just fouling off pitches until he walked them or served up a meatball.

WC3 in the NL is currently the under .500 Padres. Too bad that's probably not sustainable.

Also, the AL West is baaaaaaad. But the A's are in 3rd.

True, but the Rangers are scary. They’ve scored the most runs in the AL but they’ve given up a ton of runs because their entire rotation is on IL.

By June they should have Scherzer, Eovaldi and Bradford back, and by August they could have DeGrom and Mahle as well.

Feels like a team that could win 90 games and then go on a tear in October… oh. Uh, again.

I'm starting to hate the useless Twins almost as much as NY. When the Yankees have pregame meetings to talk about the Twins, they must all just laugh and crack jokes about how bad Minnesota plays against them.
"This guy likes low fastballs, so stay away from those. Or don't, who cares, they're all worthless against us anyway LOL!"
"Yeah we should let the bat boy hit against them today, he could probably go deep off these losers."
"If they ever get a guy on base, just yell 'BOO' at him really loudly and he'll probably fall on the ground and start crying, so just tag him out."
"Today everyone on our team throws with their off hand-- let's see how long it takes for them to score a run!"

Not even the power of the Twins stupid sausage can stop their ineptitude against the Yankees.
Can we start a petition to stop this ridiculous series between the Twinkies and the MFY? No matter what the Twins talent is or what their record is all they do is get trounced by the MFY year after year.

The batboy is batting fifth today.

The Twins were begging to forfeit this series, but the Yankees said no because with a forfeit they would only win each game 3-0 and they knew they could beat the Twins by more than that.

Skenes walked a guy in the 5th, so now he is at 5 0 0 0 1 10 on 81 pitches through 5. He probably has one more inning, his high pitch count so far this season has been 84.

8-0 lead, qualified for the win. Might as well pull him.

Season stats: 9 IP, 6 H, 17/3, K/W

He hit 100 on his 100th pitch, ridiculous. Pretty sure he is done now, 100 pitches through 6.

What a weird at-bat for Jose Ramirez...

• Grounds out, but Cleveland appeals – Carlos Correa is called for a shift violation and the action is nullified.
• Hits a foul pop-up that the 3rd baseman loses sight of and lets drop.
• Crushes a pitch down the right field line that just misses being a 2-run homer and goes foul.
• Strikes out swinging… but Andres Gimenez steals second and goes to third when the catcher's throw goes into center field.

Then… Gimenez, running on contact, is thrown out at the plate on a groundball to second, which preserves Minnesota's 1-0 lead... until David Fry follows with a 2-run homer.

The Guardians were an out away from sweeping the Twins – no one on base – Clase grazes Buxton with a pitch. On a grounder to short, Rocchio tries to race Buxton to 2nd instead of taking the easy out at first. He beat him, but the umpire blew the call and review didn't overturn it. Then they get a grounder to first, but Naylor and Clase blow the feed to the pitcher covering, compounded by Naylor blowing the rundown on Buxton coming around third… and we're tied going into the bottom of the 9th.

Chill Will with a 3-run homer after they intentionally walk the slumping Josh Naylor and Cleveland sweeps Minnesota while handing Duran his second loss of the weekend.
