Is that Richard Gough?View attachment 72876
Bumped into the gent on the right this afternoon. My faither is the boy on the left.
Yeah man. He was walking along Pittenweem Highstreet. I muttered Mon The Gers under my breath and he turned around and chatted to us for a five minutes. Proper humble gent.Is that Richard Gough?
I only recognized him because he has that strong Scandinavian jaw.Yeah man. He was walking along Pittenweem Highstreet. I muttered Mon The Gers under my breath and he turned around and chatted to us for a five minutes. Proper humble gent.
I asked him about the 1984 European Cup semifinal second leg AS Roma v Dundee Utd. The word was always that there was corruption from the officials. But he said nae to corruption 'we got fuckin battered'. He got a load of medals at Rangers and played for Spurs and Everton...San Jose too i think.
That’s interesting that he said there was no bribes. I seem to remember that the UK papers were littered with the same stories that the ref was bribed £50k a good few years ago, even a relatively high up Roma official admitted as such. Jim MacLean went to his grave believing that. I mean it’s true they were played off the park on the day but there was also a firm belief at the time the ref was a homer but nobody considered the ref had been given a bung.Yeah man. He was walking along Pittenweem Highstreet. I muttered Mon The Gers under my breath and he turned around and chatted to us for a five minutes. Proper humble gent.

And then Series A follows up with a fine for Roma for their ball boys not getting the ball back in play quickly enough:
During his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Mourinho praised a club ball boy for quickly hurling the ball for Sèrge Aurier to take a quick throw that sparked an equaliser in a 4-2 Champions League win over Olympiakos.
"I love intelligent ball boys, like I was," Mourinho said at the time. "I was a brilliant ball boy as a kid. This kid today was brilliant. He reads the game, understands the game and made an important assist."
However, the former Manchester Unitedmanager criticised the ball boys at Old Trafford for their slow reaction in returning the ball and replaced them with academy payers.
In 2014, while at Chelsea, Mourinho hit out at Newcastle United's ball boys for time-wasting in his team's 2-1 defeat at St. James Park.
"I was a brilliant ball boy as a kid" is one of my favorite quotes ever.https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/38739860/jose-mourinhos-roma-fined-serie-slow-ball-boy-tactics
Article goes into some background with Mourinho and ball boys, which is just pure Mourinho:
