This team doesn‘t care about anything. To add to what I wrote above, they’re a mediocre team playing out the string in a meaningless finale, but it would be nice to see some fight today in memory of a great person who selflessly gave his all for this franchise.
Our anticipation for your writing every day was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal season and horrible last day. Thanks for sharing.Good to see a lot of you here for the final day. I've been struggling to meet a writing deadline, and I just now popped in to see the news about Wake. He's my age and from Florida like me, so I've always had affection for him. Sets things in perspective (and makes it hard as hell to try to finish this comedy script that's due tomorrow.)
That being said, writing the poems here, and getting comments from you, helped me finally break out of a year-long slump that I suffered since losing my mom, so I am deeply grateful to those of you who took the time to read and comment. It was a poor year for the Sox (again), but I great year here in the pages of SOSH.
Here's hoping the playoffs offer some excitement - not sure for whom I will root yet - and that the off-season provides us with some momentum into 2024. I am am rambling from writing all night and hearing about Wake and watching the season end so poorly... so I will stop for now. See you all in the off-season threads!
Seconded. Many thanks! Our anticipation for your writing every day was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal season and horrible last day. Thanks for sharing.
Or shut out today. At least they won’t get no-hit this season.

Indeed. Going out on a high note.Houck seems to be pitching his ass off.
The pitching coaches made some adjustments apparently. Let's see if they're doing anything with strategy for the 3rd time through.Houck seems to be pitching his ass off.
That's more when you squeeze your ass tight.Indeed. Going out on a high note.
Cora's been taking them out throughout the game: Devers, Masa, and perhaps others I haven't noticed.PH McGuire? Turner hurt?
Ah thanks, the first couple at sorta made sense against a lefty. That was the first one that made me shake my head.Cora's been taking them out throughout the game: Devers, Masa, and perhaps others I haven't noticed.
Confound that Pythag!Welp, if we're going to win anyway, might as well try to win by 9 and have a non-negative run differential.
