I've been looking for a sportsbook with a line on Bobby hitting a HR but I cannot find one.

Is it a new thing that the Patriots Day game actually is the start of a new series? Wasn't it usually a "wrap around" four games series set?

Wrap around is more common.
Most common opponents have been NYY, Wash Senators and Philly A's. And they've probably had home games on Sunday, I would think.

through 2010,
They've had west coast opponents only thrice, angels in 2007, Mariners in 2006, and Oakland in 2000

Yay for plane travel, especially charters.

O/U for unearned runs allowed by the Red Sox tonight is optimistically set at 0.5

I am pretty sure an old CBA prevented a first game of a series starting before noon because it came up one Patriot's Day in the past. The solution thereafter was to have the weekend team stay and play on Monday as well. Maybe this is a byproduct of the AppleTV deal?

Sportscenter this AM had the Angels logo up once and one of the anchors said Angels were the opponent.

Well they've played 17 games, so I'd guess at least 12. I'm going to try to find it.
So i just went thru my mlb app and looked at all the box scores for the season, and unless I'm mistaken and missed something, tonight will be the 18th different starting lineup in 18 games. Wow.

This has been a thing for a couple years. I do not know if it is Cora or the front office doing it, but I went through a sheet last fall and they hadn't used the same lineup twice in a row more than 3 times all season if I remember correctly.

It has to be hard for the players to really get into a routine when they are changing the lineup every day.

It's been a thing for more than that, and it's not exclusive to the Red Sox. The consistent lineup thing is a myth.

2004 AL playoff teams by number of different batting orders
Red Sox 141
Twins 131
Angels 126
Yankees 116

2013 AL playoff teams by number of different batting orders
Rays 147
A's 133
Red Sox 126
Cleveland 121
Tigers 109

2023 AL playoff teams by number of different batting orders (plus Red Sox)
Twins 156
Rays 152
Orioles 150
Red Sox 146
Blue Jays 141
Astros 140
Rangers 114

I wonder if there's not some stability there though. Durran, for example, has led off every game he's played in.

Remember when Tony Kemp made that great catch in the Orioles series? The Os have DFA'd him and the Twins have signed him to a minors deal. I guess he couldn't hit, but I think he's a better infielder than some of our subs.

He has become the answer to the trivia question of who was released when the O’s called up Jackson Holliday.
