Trying to make it look like he didn’t do anything wrong and that contact was incidental. It’s what middle school and high school kids do (as a coach, I’ve seen it countless times).

If our coach had impacted a player doing that he should’ve been ejected and suspended for at least several games. If he had slid up under a guy on a practice shot I’m not sure what the right penalty would’ve been, but it probably starts at like a 10 game suspension.

Show a player contesting into a player low on a practice shot. The position of everyone else here is (1) we agree contesting practice shots is normal; (2) we cannot recall anyone ever coming close to sliding under a guy to do it. If your position is that the second one happens all the time (as opposed to that the thing we all agree upon and is not dangerous happening all the time) it’s on you to provide some evidence.
