I think Wikelman stays ahead for now, though. He's only 8 months older than Yordanny & has been succeeding at the higher level for longer & going a bit deeper into games.

Even if I am more excited about Yordanny, he still has a lower floor at this point.

I think having a lefty open for a lefty makes sense in the minors, you’re more concerned with getting guys reps than maximizing win probability and generally speaking they need more work attacking opposite handed hitters.

Yeah, I was mostly joking about this one. I think Worcester should have had a righty opener yesterday because they were trying to make the playoffs, but Salem not so much.

I would be a bit surprised. I think they'll probably be content with his workload this season... but he's going to be on the 40 next year, so they might want to be a bit more aggressive than they would otherwise.

Kinda. In his last 6 games he's pitched 6.2 innings & allowed 2 walks. That's 2.7 bb/9 compared to over a walk per inning before this stretch.

He's allowed 8 runs during those 6.2 innings, though...

I'm a bit surprised they didn't just send Walter back down after he threw 82 pitches & allowed 7 runs to the Royals yesterday. Yeah, they couldn't use him for 2 weeks, but it's not like he's particularly good.

I feel like I don’t remember reading about or thinking there was any possibility of Roman sticking at CF after he was drafted.

Maybe if he keeps getting bigger or something but plus CF play could see him a top 20 prospect.

Maybe if he keeps getting bigger or something but plus CF play could see him a top 20 prospect.

I'm still not totally sold that he'll end up there, but the fact it's currently even on the table is amazing news.

Connor Butler allowed a run in the 7th on 2 hits, a walk & a wp, but struck out 2.

Michael Valera pitched a 1-2-3 8th with a strikeout.
