YORDANNY by year:

2021 - After being signed in February 2020 for $35k, Yordanny made his Red Sox org debut in '21 after the list pandemic year.

These were his DSL stats in his age 18 season:

13 games
13 starts
39.2 innings
9.3 k/9
5.7 bb/9
3.63 ERA
4.18 xFIP
1.49 WHIP

2023 - Started his age 20 season in the FCL again. Made 3 dominant starts & was promoted to A-Ball. Made 9 more starts & was promoted to A+ where he appeared in 2 games, & then 1 more in the playoffs.

15 games
14 starts
70.2 innings
12.7 k/9
3.4 bb/9
2.17 ERA
1.12 WHIP

I was going to try to calculate his xFIP across 3 levels, but I'm too sleepy to begin trying to process that. Let's say around 3.20?

Just going to talk about a few of my favorite prospects when I feel like it over the next few days before we call it a season on Sunday.

I also am going to finish going over the SoxProspects roster projections (I still owe FCL & DSL).

If there's any other type of content you guys want, just lmk.

Continuing the SoxProspects 2024 Roster Projections series with the FCL Sox...

Rotation
RH Willian Colmenares
RH Chansol Lee
RH Wandy Abreu
RH Wuilliams Rodriguez
RH Juan Henriquez

WUILLIAMS! & I will be fascinated to see if Chansol Lee is any good. Colmenares I could see as someone who takes a leap next season...not sure why? He was pretty bad in his 10 innings in the FCL this season after returning from injury. I'll have to figure out later my irrational faith in him.

Henriquez is also a promotion from DSL. I don't really think much of Wandy Abreu based on his 34 pretty bad innings in the FCL this year. Would rather give the spot to someone more fun.[/quote]

Bullpen
RH Austin Ehrlicher
RH Eybersson Polanco
RH Yonfi Rodriguez
RH Denis Reguillo
RH Simon Pacheco
RH Alvaro Mejias
RH Jose Martinez
LH Bryant Nunez
RH Darlyn De La Cruz
RH Cesar Ruiz
RH Obed Balderas
RH Gilberto Batista
RH Luis Jerez
RH Alisson Del Orbe

Inactive Pitchers
RH Stijn Van Der Schaaf

A fair # of DL call ups here, including several like Batista & Martinez who probably belong in the rotation. Ehrilcher & Mejias were injured this year. I could see Del Orbe, the converted infielder, make it as high as Greenville this upcoming season if he keeps pitching lights out. He had a 1.23 ERA in 29.1 innings with 44 strikeouts in his 1st season as a pitcher. He also turned 22 this month, so he's got a lot of catching up to do.

This Stijn thing is offensive to me unless he has a serious injury no one has informed me about. He struggled in his 1st 3 games, but after that:

6 games
15 innings
2 runs
9 hits
5 walks
11 strikeouts

1.20 ERA
0.93 WHIP

Lineup
C Kleyver Salazar
1B Frederik Jimenez
2B Franklin Arias
3B Freili Encarnacion
SS Yoeilin Cespedes
LF Andy Lugo
CF Nelly Taylor
RF Yosander Asencio
DH Fraymi De Leon

Fun little lineup. I pretty strongly disagree with a couple of the choices, but I'll get to those in the bench section. I'm not really sure about the Freili hype - but hopefully he can have a healthier season. Only 39 PAs (55 wRC+). He turns 19 in January. He wasn't great in DSL in '22 either, though - 29.4% k & a 94 wRC+.

Will be interesting to see Nelly Taylor in action. & I hope they move Yoely to at least Greenville by the end of the year.

Will do the DSL really quickly. Not going to be a lot to talk about with the guys who aren't good enough for promotion, yet...except the ones I think are maybe good enough.

DSL Blue 1st:

Pitchers
RH Yeferson Vargas
LH Nicolas De La Cruz
RH Jesus Garcia
RH Ricardo Rodriguez
RH Ali Ascanio
RH Ruben De La Cruz
RH Enrique Carta
RH Juan Valera
RH Jesus Garcia
RH William Reynoso
RH Daury Pena
RH Yermain Ruiz

Inactive Pitchers
RH Hanssel De Los Santos
RH Aaron Liranzo
RH Emmanuel Polo
RH Brahian Rijo

Nicolas De La Cruz & 1 of the 2 Jesus Garcias seem like no-brainers to me. Maybe RickRod.

Pitchers
RH Jean Carlos Reyes
RH Argeny Sanchez
RH Geiser Figueroa
RH Ovis Portes
RH Andres Jimenez
RH Breilin Arredondo
LH Oscar Sanchez
RH Cristofer Soriano
RH Deybi Salcedo
RH Greider Colina
RH Yodrian Beltre

Inactive Pitchers
RH Denison Sanchez
RH Yoelvin Chirino
RH Marcos Almanzar

Jimenez & Salcedo seem promotable, & I'll put Portes in the bucket with Colmenares where I irrationally expect big things next year (despite him pitching 4.1 innings this year with a 12.46 ERA), & also Argeny Sanchez, who had a 7.20 ERA in 15 innings.

This was posted after the September 2nd game they lost 6-4 in 10 innings.

Fitzgerald was 0-3 with 2 strikeouts.

In the bottom of the 2nd, he was called out on a 3-2 pitch, 95.6 mph fastball which the GameDay shows as getting a sliver of the strike zone outside. There were 2 outs & no one on.

In the 5th he popped out on the 1st pitch.

In the 7th he took 2 balls, then a curveball for a called strike, then swung at 2 curveball in the dirt to strike out. There was a runner on 1st & 2 out. He was then ejected. Not sure if he thought he check swung or something?

Does that mean that Fitzy is hanging up the cleats? Otherwise, I can't imagine him getting any close call anywhere next year.
Looks like a post game frustration thing & not like a walking off into the sunset thing... pretty surprising that's still up, though.

I found this from an August 15th Fitzjection.

The rest of the inning was arguably more eventful—Ronaldo Hernandez and Bradley Zimmer were each hit by pitches, Ryan Fitzgerald was ejected after the home plate umpire deemed he left the box between pitches and eventually, Ceddanne Rafaela lined a two-run triple to right to give the WooSox a 5-0 lead through six.

ROSIER led off the game with a single & got to 2nd on a groundout, but was thrown out at the plate on a Hernandez single.

Rosier walked.

I think he may be the only real person of interest for me left.
