JFJ’s comments about his ‘third line ceiling’ certainly didn’t help, and I think it’s clear he has a higher upside than that
Crazy how far beleskey has fallen. Playing third line on an ahl team (albiet a stacked one)Those top 2 lines are borderline NHL lines right now.
Donato is by far their best prospect. He could play in the NHL now from a few college coaches I know that have faced him.Their best prospect might even be Donato who isn’t in the system yet.
Edit: And he already has a goal tonight. He had a 3g 1a game last weekend against Vermont. He seems...good.
I would agree with this from a non-AHL/NHL roster perspective. I hope he gets a top 9 role in the Olympics, because he gives me added incentive to watch the US team play.Donato is by far their best prospect. He could play in the NHL now from a few college coaches I know that have faced him.
Yes. The advantage of having so many legit prospects is that, after the inevitable attrition, a few will still be left standing...While I get that, I'm not sure any of them are at a point where you can make that determination which is why I think it'll play itself out.
Not a prospect, but look who is skating with the Providence Bruins.
My heart fist-pumped. My head said "Maybe the Bruins' game has gotten a bit too fast for a 40-year old coming off hip surgery.Sign me up for that.
I agree with Kenney here. I don't want him disrupting our current 4th line, and while I don't think it's a bad idea to kick the tires, I just don't see him being able to help. He's 40 years old, had 27 points in 80 games last year, and is coming off of major surgery. I guess it can't hurt to give him a look over the last 5 or so games but I'm more inclined to believe he's cooked.
Ancient history. Some good memories, but that’s it. Memories.I agree with Kenney here. I don't want him disrupting our current 4th line, and while I don't think it's a bad idea to kick the tires, I just don't see him being able to help.
No, it’d probably be a 1 year, pro-rated vet minimum contract. It wouldn’t be hard to fit him.Would it be that much of a financial imposition to sign him? Any difficult roster moves required?
If he feels / looks good, it’d be nice to have the low cost (i.e. non-prospect) upside, particularly if another big add isn’t in the cards.
