Final vote tallies:
1. Ronaldo - 27.99%
2. Messi - 24.72%
3. Ribery - 23.36%
Closer than I would have thought, but FIFA took great pains to emphasize that the two week extra window they added didn't change the winner (though they have every incentive to say that). Ronaldo is the deserved winner though, truly the best individual player on the year. He and Messi have now finished 1-2 in the Ballon d'OR a whopping 5 times.
Here are the voting results. I always think it's interesting to see who votes for who, here are a few big names:
Cristiano Ronaldo:
1. Falcao
2. Bale
3. Ozil
Lionel Messi:
1. Iniesta
2. Xavi
3. Neymar
Hugo Lloris:
1. Ribery
2. Neuer
3. Bale
Steven Gerrard:
1. Ronaldo
2. Messi
3. Suarez
Iker Casillas:
1. Ronaldo
2. Ribery
3. Robben
Clint Dempsey
1. Ronaldo
2. Messi
3. ZLATAN
Jurgen Klinsmann didn't go for the big 2:
1. Ribery
2. Bale
3. Falcao
Skimming through the list nothing jumped out at me as egregious that couldn't be chalked up to politics (e.g. Poland's coach voting Lewandowski in first place, but stuff like that is to be expected). Outside the top three, Zlatan, Iniesta, Neymar, Xavi, Falcao, van Persie, and Robben seemed to be the top vote-getters.
