This after he gave up five runs in the first, came out for the 2nd anyway, and spiked a 45-foot fastball into the ground.Hopefully nothing, but Twitter reports of Groome's velo being down tonight and was just lifted by trainer in 2nd inning...
Mitchell Osnowitz, a 6-5 righty from Illinois who has a high 90s fastball and is pitching for Salem. My son caught his bullpens last fall and summer as he worked with a scout/coach on a second and third pitch. He was drafted a few years ago by the Rockies as a third baseman. They converted him to a pitcher, but that didn't work out, so he took a year off to regroup and work on a change-up and curve. He's old for single-A, 25, but I love these "never give up the dream" stories.Anyone have any sleeper prospects they follow?
My sleeper prospect for this year is - or I should say will be - Trey Ball, RIGHTFIELDER! I'd give him a half year pitching, and if he's still not missing bats and walking too many, make the switch to outfieldAnyone have any sleeper prospects they follow?
I wonder if they'll try him at reliever first, to see how his stuff plays in short stints. My sleeper prospect for this year is - or I should say will be - Trey Ball, RIGHTFIELDER! I'd give him a half year pitching, and if he's still not missing bats and walking too many, make the switch to outfield
You know it. It would be so terrific to have a high-profile piece that DDski could trade for the inevitable bullpen arm, that's not Devers or Swihart.Man, I would love to see Chavis have a breakout this season.
Both would be draft-eligible juniors this year had they gone to college. Good stuff.Ockimey continues his hot start. 2/3 with 2 HRs in the top of the 5th. Chavis is 1/2 with a double, hbp.
