Busy day of work today, so I'm not much past the point where you chose RVP over Arjen Robben lolI enjoyed Stijn talking about his struggles with command early on in the FCL season last year and what changes he is seeing with new pitching development regime. You’ll like it @JM3
It was 100% an Ed thing on the Curacao pronunciation lol I will let him know he is missed here.Busy day of work today, so I'm not much past the point where you chose RVP over Arjen Robben lol
& then Ed had me doubting everything I knew about how to pronounce Curaçao, but it turns out it wasn't a me issue (it's "sow" not "cow"). Is Ed ever going to come back?
Oh, & someone really ought to set up a Stijn/Kenley meeting. That would be really cool footage.
Multiple shots at LDLR are duly noted.
That guy has resting announcer voice. Like really not sure what else he would do with his life when that's how he sounds in a conversation.
I always call him a game show host. He talks the exact same on air and off air lolThat guy has resting announcer voice. Like really not sure what else he would do with his life when that's how he sounds in a conversation.
Solid episode, mostly previewing the Spring Breakout game.
Nothing too deep in terms of MiLB stuff, but a very pleasant listen.
I've been meaning to listen to this pod since last year since I love Hunter Noll's MiLB posts on Twitter & Jake is pretty good, too...
Listened to this tonight. I enjoyed Mark Daniels on the Patriots, but if you're baseball only, Ian Cundall comes on around the 41 minute mark.
I’m glad I don’t get this kind of feedback with mine lol I know it used to probably sound bad like this but we have come a long way I hope.I've been meaning to listen to this pod since last year since I love Hunter Noll's MiLB posts on Twitter & Jake is pretty good, too...
...but this just doesn't work for me. I couldn't quite place why until I started actively listening & I think it's all the verbal tics.
I think I heard a sentence with 7 "like" in it.
Paraphrase:
I like that like he umm like plays like umm like uh this other uh guy who like likes baseball.
It's too bad because it's obviously subject matter that I enjoy, but it's not for me.
I feel bad about posting that because I know doing a Podcast would be really hard & I'm sure I would be awful at it myself...but it's my honest opinion.I’m glad I don’t get this kind of feedback with mine lol I know it used to probably sound bad like this but we have come a long way I hope.
Yeah, he's dealing with a small leg injury so no fielding or running, just mashing. They were absolutely fawning over Cespedes, saying he will move up quite a bit in their rankings (currently tenth), the only thing keeping them from going all in is that they didn't see him in the field (currently at SS, writeup says he might eventually move to SS or 2B, which sounds like what they were saying about Xander when he was in the minors).
Ha. The first time I saw Fitts this spring, my immediate thought was, "Man, this guy just LOOKS like a pitcher."Who they talked about with 1-word summaries which are by their nature not going to be very complete.
Hitters:
Teel (good), Johanfran (fatter), Blaze (leaner), Anderson (raw), Meidroth (professional), Mayer (smooth), Yoely (jacked), Arias (consistent), Starlyn (competent), Bleis (matured), Roman (preternatural), KCamp (handsy)
Pitchers:
Ehrlicher (athlete), EPlonks (interesting), LuCo (confident), Wehunt (off-putting), Early (projectable), Mullins (bullpen-y), Paez (traitsy), ERC (96), JWY (healthy), Sandlin (velo+), Dobbins (inconsistent), Zeferjahn (wild), Troye (power), Wikelman (movement), Fitts (pitcheresque), Guerrero (fast)
I’m with you on that. Podcasts are hard to do and there are a million of them out there these days.I feel bad about posting that because I know doing a Podcast would be really hard & I'm sure I would be awful at it myself...but it's my honest opinion.
You have definitely become a lot more comfortable as well as more comfortable teaming with your co-hosts since the 1st episodes. I think what made your pod listenable even in the beginning when you were less comfortable is the fact that they were interviews, so even if the delivery of the questions wasn't perfect, there would still be a change of pace & someone's answer to listen to.
For a podcast to work for me it has to entertaining. The less entertaining it is, the more I have to learn about something. Unfortunately I've immersed myself so much into the Red Sox MiLB stuff it's hard to teach me things just by having an opinion, & the less smooth the delivery, the less listenable & entertaining it becomes.
Interviews with people you almost always learn something you didn't know about that person, & if those things relate to how that person will play baseball in the Red Sox org, I'm interested. & the smoother & more entertaining the hosts, the better.
Buuuut I only occasionally listen to your episodes that aren't Red Sox related because the interviewee doesn't interest me.
The other thing about you, Ed & Chris is that you have personal knowledge over the Worcester sphere and actual sources & firsthand knowledge, so I would probably listen to you 3 talk Worcester baseball.
The SoxProspects podcast works for me because it's pretty entertaining & well-delivered, & also they have sources & scout games & such. If it was only one of those things, not sure it would be a must listen.
I haven't listened to Ed's Down By the River pod or the Carrabis/Milliken pods, & I almost never listen to Bradfo. I should probably give them a try sometime, but most of my other Podcast listening time is spent on Baseball Bar-B-Cast, NBA podcasts like Group Chat & Lowe Post, & the Rewatchables.
I listened to this today. It was ~uneventful but fine. I think I prefer the new Chris.
"The change felt good. I wanted to be clean cut for my first pro season. Short hair is much easier to maintain and the locs were getting hot down in Fort Myers. I cut it the last day of ST and I came to camp the next day and everyone thought I was a new free agent pick up."
My apologies. These are the important things that don't really get posted when I take a few days off...Oh gosh, Nazzan, too? Our HAR (Hair Above Replacement) rating has taken a big hit this spring, between Roman's butchery of Marcelo and now this.
Finally getting around to listening to this. I really like the Ian & Andrews combo.
Heyyyy Ian mentioned Musett in passing. Finally getting around to listening to this. I really like the Ian & Andrews combo.
I pretty much always agree with Ian on MLB stuff & Andrews has a really nice depth of knowledge on everyone which is something I appreciate. Hope he comes on more.
This one I'll try to listen to later this week:
