Adding to the positives, Stanley Tucker just got his 1st A-ball hit & it was a 3-run homer to cut the deficit to 8-5.
Alcantara had reached on an error & Yute singled again.

On the downside, no shutout for Greenville. Cepeda allowed a lead off walk & a 2-out triple.

Now that someone else has posted I feel like I should respond to it like 5 times...

Other positives from today:
* Good starts from Dobbins & Song.
* Greenville playing well.
* Hernandez homer.
* YORDANNY promotion.
I am excited about the Monegro promotion, he could move quickly next year if he keeps shoving. Song I’ll wait to get excited about until we see what his stuff looks like after a full offseason.

Yeah, I'm not overly optimistic about Song, but it's still cool to have him back & pitching competently.

Burned . . . Blacklisted
I had decided that if I got to 150 posts in this thread over the past 2 days without a single other post by anyone else, I would retire from these.

Now I'm conflicted lol
Yorke running a .321 BA over the past month with a .919 OPS is better than any of his months since April. Ending on a good run could be a positive heading into a AAA promotion next season.

And you are bringing me around on Rosier, though I think he’s going to have to battle all the way to the majors and then doesn’t do anything terrific enough to hold more than a reserve gig. Those dudes are valuable though, especially if they are average defenders and runners. Heard a team could use some of those.

Greenville won 6-1.

Cepeda pitched the last 2 innings, allowing that 1 run on 1 hit & 1 walk with 1 strikeout, raising his ERA to 1.00.

Don't try to sweet talk me with posts about prospects lol

I'm really excited to see Yorke locked in.

& it's not that I like love Rosier as a prospect...I just think he's much more viable than a lot of the guys SoxProspects insist on ranking ahead of him who I see as having much less value. Rosier has like 43 steals so I assume he's at least pretty fast.

BVB started for Worcester & pitched 4 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits & 4 walks with 4 strikeouts.

Mosqueda pitched a scoreless 5th & is still in for the 6th.
Mosqueda was more interesting than I was expecting. 92-94 with good life for a lefty. Except for this...

I always picture nice peaceful HBP when I read about them where no one gets hurt :/
The blood was streaming. I was on the wrong side to see exactly where it hit him, but my guess is a broken nose.

It was misting all night so I would think the ball just slipped. Certainly not intentional.

Yeah, I was pretty optimistic about him this Spring Training but up & down season for him. Still a chance he puts it together.

Ramsey settled down & pitched a 1-2-3 5th with 2 strikeouts.

Railin Perez in for the 6th.
Perez pitched 2 scoreless innings with 1 hit & 4 strikeouts.

Connor Butler continued on the struggle bus, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned on 1 hit & 2 walks, putting Salem down 11-7. They made a bit of a comeback in the bottom of the 9th, including a Johanfran RBI double, but lost 11-9.

JOHANFRAN was 2-5 with a double.

YUTEN 2-4.

JOHNFRANK was 1-4 with a homer, a walk & 3 RBI.

Tucker was 1-4 with a homer & 3 RBI.

Feliz & Alcantara were each 0-2 with 2 walks.

As someone who has lurked on this board damn near every day for the past 20 yrs and never felt compelled to share an opinion on anything (literally 1st post ever), please, please, please do not retire from these. This is some of the best content on SoSH, and I have to imagine there are many others that feel the same, but just don't take the time to post. Finally decided I should take the time. I would've barely had any idea who Yordanny Monegro was at this point in his development if he was coming up a couple yrs ago, but thanks to your efforts, I'm texting videos of him and talking about his promotion to Greenville with people. Please keep doing your thing man, and know that even if people aren't responding, they're definitely reading. Shit, maybe someday I'll even make a 2nd post.

Lol thank you for the kind words.

It's just hard sometimes when I feel like I'm putting in hours of my time every day talking to myself.

I think the best solution is probably for me to just cut back on my idle musings & talking about things that probably no one but me has any remote interest in, but keep posting any highlights I find & the stuff that's going on with our best & most intriguing prospects.

Absolutely! Just look at the views each thread gets-- literally thousands of views each. This one has over 2k. @JM3 you are talking to many, many people and we appreciate it.
There aren't a lot of replies because what can we add when we are getting all the info from you? But it's very appreciated.

Also, I don't want people to have to feel like they need to have something important to add to post here.

It could be a question for me or the people more knowledgeable than me who read the thread, or a comment of general excitement about one of our guys in general, or a specific highlight, or just saying hi.

Heck, if people want to tell me about their day or ask me questions about divorce (although nothing I say in this subforum constites legal advice), that's fine with me, too.

Very late to the party here but just wanted to say that while all of us really really appreciate what you do here, for me, it's hard to read these every day but I'll read a bunch of them at one time. So while I really really really appreciate all of your posts and great information, replying to a week's old thread (like I'm doing now! :)) doesn't seem to make much sense.

So please don't stop!

Thx for the kind words. I think at times it could feel like an obligation some days, but I think I've found a comfortable place where I post more when I feel like posting more, & less when I feel like posting less.

I still always enjoy interaction, though, even if it's 2 weeks later lol
