For the second consecutive night, McDonough reached base four times – on Thursday, he added a walk to three hits, and tonight, those numbers were reversed. He stole two bases and scored three of the team’s 11 runs as the Desert Dogs defeated the Solar Sox. McDonough stole 24 bases this MiLB season, all with Double-A Portland. He finished the season with Triple-A Worcester.

Glendale won 7-6 in 10 innings. Olds got the win.

McDonough was 0-5 with a strikeout & Hickey was 1-5 with 3 strikeouts.

So 1-10 with 4 strikeouts.

Their 3 pitchers were better, though...

They added the leaderboard in. Of course, I think it's only for the 1 game because they only track pitch stuff in 1 of the parks.

Glendale won 9-4. After starting the season 2-10, they've now won 7 in a row & are 9-10.

TMac was 3-4 with a homer & a strikeout.

Rosier was 1-4 with a double, a walk & 2 strikeouts.

Looks like Glendale is off today (& 1 other team), then 2 teams are off Wednesday & 2 are off Thursday, but Glendale will play both of those days.

My fault on making the manager (Greenville's Iggy Suarez) pitch 2 Red Sox.

Glendale lost 8-2.

McDonough was 2-5, but had 2 strikeouts, a cs (3) & an error (2).

Wyatt Olds pitched an inning & allowed a solo homer & struck out 1.

Felix Cepeda pitched a messy 7th inning including 4 singles, 2 strikeouts, 2 earned runs, & a throwing error to allow an unearned run (1 IP, 3 runs, 2 ER, 4 hits, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts, 1 L).

I remembered seeing something in his regular season #s that concerned me yesterday but can't for the life of me figure out what it is today. His Salem #s were not very good, but there's nothing to really complain about in his Greenville stats. But it's not a great sign that he seems overmatched in the AFL.

Side, side note: his SoxProspects stats at Greenville are wrong. They show him allowing 3 hits & 1 earned run when he allowed 10 hits & 3 earned runs. I think the stats probably just got slid over a spot during data entry because he allowed 10 hits, 3 runs, 3 earned runs & 1 homer but they show 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 earned run, 0 homers. We'll see if someone really is watching :)

Penrod struck out the 1st 2 hitters in the 3rd, including the irrepressible Zap Brannigan. The next guy reached on a throwing error by Penrod & stole 2nd on Hickey. Walk. Groundout.

Who would have thought we might protect a 26 y/o High-A pitcher & have it not be Noah Song? I think if they hadn't sent him to the AFL or he seemed overmatched, it wouldn't be a serious consideration. I think I've said this a few times, but I would be annoyed if we kept Walter on the 40 & lost basically any other pitcher in the R5.

Glendale lost 5-4 & Mata got the loss. They only played 7 innings for some reason I'm too lazy to figure out.

Hickey was 2-3 with a double.

Corey Rosier, OF, BOS, 24
There wasn’t much offense for Glendale beyond Rosario’s fireworks, but Rosier was a player who stood out. He had four competitive plate appearances that culminated in a walk and a single. He was another player whose athleticism surprised me even though I’m fully aware he stole 49 bases during the regular season. His speed was on display as he took third uncontested and he moved extremely well for having a stockier build than I had anticipated.
