Think the question that really matters now is whether whenever Hayward does come back (late this season, offseason, early next season) he is back to the player he was before the injury. If he is (or close to it), I'm pretty optimistic for next season (although it really sucks that this season is basically out the window). But if he comes back and is only say 50-75% the player he was before, Cs are in real trouble as they would then be paying a max contract to someone deserving at most 50-75% of that.
I'm not familiar enough with these types of injuries to know what the danger is that these can be career enders (if not in actuality, at least de facto). Someone with more familiarity have any idea what the likelihood is that Hayward is just never the same?
