"Chipper. Nicasio. Marte. Rafaela. Your favorite prospect’s favorite prospect crushes his third Triple-A home run. He’s 2-for-3 tonight."

We need a good nickname for Ceddanne at this point. Maybe CD as in CeeDee?

Little Raffy makes some sense.

Hunter Noll is better at Tweeting Minor League highlights than he is at nicknames.

I have no idea how to verify this but I can’t remember ever seeing this many 10 strikeout games throughout the system.

WooSox won 7-3.

Rafaela was 3-4 with 2 homers.

Pablo Reyes was 2-4. He has a .455 average & 1.455 OPS during his rehab stint.

Dalbec was 3-4 with 2 doubles. In AAA he is hitting .300 with a 1.067 OPS.

Notwithstanding (my autocorrect doesn't like "Norwith") Gudiño got the win pitching 5 innings & allowing 2 runs.

Andrés Núñez has been quite good in Worcester since they picked him up from the Royals.

He pitched a scoreless 1.1 today. Now in 4 games with Worcester he has pitched 5.1 innings & allowed 1 run on 3 hits, 2 walks & 4 strikeouts (1.69 ERA).

This system right now. Every day it seems it’s not one but two or more standout performances.

Anthony’s shot was in the 9th down 3-1. Man, I hope this isn’t just a freaky streak.
I mean it probably won't be all this smooth sailing - see for example how results with Salem, he's definitely a real guy, though, & should be a lot of fun to watch for years to come.

The system is loaded right now. I’m not even sure who I like the most. Mayer’s swing oozes talent as the #1 guy but after that you could argue for 20+ other guys to be in your top ten and you wouldn’t be foolish.

Baseball America's midseason list came out a couple days ago

http://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2023-top-100-prospects/

Anyone have a subscription? Curious who we've got on there and where.
5. Marcelo Mayer
Ht: 6'2" | Wt: 188 | B-T: L-R

Age: 21
Tools: Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 40 | Field: 60 | Arm: 60

Skinny: An advanced hitter with feel to hit, on-base skills and power, Mayer is a standout offensive player with the ability to give opposing pitchers fits. After a cold start to the season, Mayer has begun to turn a corner. He was promoted to Double-A on May 30.
77. Miguel Bleis
Ht: 6'0" | Wt: 170 | B-T: R-R

Age: 19
Tools: Hit: 50 | Power: 65 | Run: 60 | Field: 60 | Arm: 60

Skinny: Bleis’ 2023 season has gotten off to a slightly slow start, but he remains one of the more promising players in Class A thanks to his impressive skill set.
83. Nick Yorke
Ht: 5'11" | Wt: 200 | B-T: R-R

Age: 21
Tools: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 45 | Field: 45 | Arm: 45

Skinny: After a 2022 season to forget, Yorke has found his swing again, showing contact, on-base ability and power in Double-A. He’s an average defender at second base with a well-rounded offensive profile.
91. Roman Anthony
Ht: 6'2" | Wt: 200 | B-T: L-R

Age: 19
Tools: Hit: 45 | Power: 55 | Run: 50 | Field: 50 | Arm: 50

Skinny: A well-rounded offensive player, Anthony has garnered significant buzz since the beginning of the season. His combination of bat-to-ball skills, power and approach earned him a promotion to High-A despite middling numbers.
Red Sox have 4. Rays have 6. Yankees have 3. Orioles have 9. Toronto has 2.

Thx @Mantush

Bleis had a .607 OPS in 142 PAs before being ruled out for the season. "Off to a slightly slow start" is an odd way to describe that.

Oh well, I'm still optimistic.

At Portland they called him "C Note".

Ceddanne Rafaela’s name is not on his locker in the Portland Sea Dogs’ clubhouse. Where his first name should be is the nickname “C Note.” The nameplate is the work of Mike Coziahr, the team’s equipment manager and director of clubhouse services. After a recent game, Rafaela pointed to it and laughed.

“He put that last year when they called me up (to Portland). He put the C first. I asked what’s that and he said, ‘Big money,'” Rafaela said.

DSL Blue won their 1st game of the day 5-3. The most interesting thing, to me, about this game is Allison Del Orbe.

Hard to find much about it, but it seems like he's a failed SS who the Rangers let go of, who is trying to convert to pitching.

He's 21, which is a bit old for DSL, but since being picked up for free this April after the Rangers released him, Del Orbe has pitched quite well. Del Orbe is from Pimentel, DR.

Today he pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief, striking out 6 & allowing 1 hit. On the season, he lowered his ERA to 0.61 over 7 games, 14.2 innings. 8 hits, 10 walks & 23 strikeouts.

Is there a team better set up for 2025-2028 than Baltimore? Don't forget, they have the capacity to spend $$ and have done so in the past ($164 mil in 2017), and literally their only long term commitment at the moment is 600K to James McCann next year.

Maybe Arizona? Maybe. And Atlanta has to be right up there.

But if we are limiting it to the AL East, Baltimore sure looks like they could own the division on paper very soon, and for a while.

DSL Red Sox Red won 4-3.

Juan Henriquez wasn't as good as last week...

But he did strike out 6 in 4 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Red Sox Red won 3-2 in 10 innings.

Weakly Henriquez update:

5 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit & 1 walk, & recording 6 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.91.

They also got 4 innings of relief from Daniel Nunez. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits & a walk, & recorded 7 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.93.

Jose Liriano hit a pinch hit 2 run homer in the bottom of the 10th to secure the victory.

WooSox won 8-4.

BVB has an up & down AAA debut 3 ER in 5 innings but all on a 3-run homer in the 4th. He allowed 3 hits & 1 walk, & struck out 5. He got the win.

Richard Bleier came in & pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit & striking out 2. Seems like he might be almost done rehabbing.

Dinelson Lamet made his Worcester debut as well, pitching the last 2 innings, allowing 1 run on 1 hit (a homer) & 2 walks. He struck out 1.
